I’ve been so looking forward to returning to this universe ever since finishing “When Among Crows” which was on of my favourite reads of 2024.
To Clutch a Razor picks up at the end of When Among Crows where Dymitr is looking for a way to remove the bonesword from his life forever without going mad, Ala is cured of her curse but not the constant nightmares that are a remnant of those visions, and the strzygas are looking to rid themselves of Niko permanently.
Then Dymitr’s uncle dies and each has the opportunity to complete a task they’ve been set or thinks may move them toward a goal to help them move on.
This doesn’t prove as simple as any of them hoped it would be.
We are once more plunged into a modern take on Slavic folklore with more information about the Knights of the Holy Order being revealed. and more supernatural creatures
A book of pain and redemption, love and hate, good and evil, and everyone looking for that path that will bring them closer to some form of peace.
The book closes with a clear opportunity to revisit this universe which I will be so happy to revisit as long as there are stories written in it.
Once again with a beautiful dust cover by Eleonor Piteira rich and mythical.
A quick, intense read, really enjoyed it from start to finish.
