Huw Aaron. Penguin, (32p) ISBN: 9780241684450. Picture Book, read 25/01/26, Paperback ★★★★☆
Have had this hanging around for over a year and thought it was about time I got round to it…
As I was reading this I kept looking for references to Fungus the Bogeyman, but alas there were none.
Despite that this is such a cute, loving, rhyming book about going to bed, what it takes, and that everyone has to do it sooner or later (preferably sooner).
In a world full of monsters and a Dark Lord, fangs are brushed, milk is drank, and baths are had. Sheep are ‘counted’, rooms are tidied, and all are tucked up snug.
Loved the rhyme of it, the pace was good, and the illustrations suitably creepy yet caring.
A lovely book to read at night as the littlies are settling to sleep.
