Kit Anderson. Avery Hill, (208p) ISBN: 9781910395776. Graphic Novel, read 09/10/25, Paperback ★★★★☆
I’ve had this on the shelf for quite a while now and finally the artwork won me over when I was looking for something quiet to read.
And you really have to see the artwork to appreciate fully what I mean by quiet.
This is a collection of short pieces all linked with the idea of solitude, inner peace, and ‘quiet’.
I really loved the continued story of the wizard with the running commentary of people who have no idea of what this person’s life is like but are more than willing to say something about it.
There is a lot of melancholy in these collected pieces, for things past or not quite past yet, for relationships, for not quit relationships and how we are all living in our own little islands of solitude.
The colour palette when used is a lovely soft and warm collection of colours, nothing jarring, even at scenes where it could be thought of as harsh.
This is such a great collection it’s made me want to search out more of Kit’s work.
