Shockheaded Peter: Part One
This came to me just as I was about to go on holiday with a press pack for the Kickstarter for Shockheaded Peter: Part Two and I was wondering how to go about talking about it.
I’ve decided to do a review for Shockheaded Peter: Part One and discuss the Kickstarter and the creators at the same time.
Co-creators E.B. Kogan and Jessica Silvetti bring over a decade of film industry experience working across major studios, broadcasters, and streaming platforms. Their storytelling pedigree spans hit television shows, acclaimed indie films, and international sensations.
Shockheaded Peter is a mysterious figure who comes out of the dark seemingly to punish naughty children and feels like it’s based, even just a little, on the Struwwelpeter collection of cautionary tales (I just saw it was 😉).
Set in the town of Mallow Heights where, quite frankly, most people seem a bit horrible.
At the start we are introduced to a dark shadowy figure who punishes a bully with a light touch of dismemberment, this is in the past and sort of sets the tone for the rest of the read.
We then come to the present where the town is run down and join Ruby and her family at the upcoming 200th Tick Tock Cavalcade, her father is a clockmaker and fixer and is sure to get lots of business but all is not as it seems.
Bullies are around every corner and at every strata of society, and are pressing on Ruby and her family from every side and all seems taught with no way out no matter how hard Ruby tries.
But then a promise is made…
I loved the weirdness of the town and the creepiness of the people in it, comeuppances are always appreciated, but things just keep getting darker, madhouses are looming, but at the end there is a chilling job opportunity.
This is a great start to what looks to be a really creepy series and collaboration between some wonderful artists.
As I said earlier, Shockheaded Peter – Part Two is on Kickstarter at the start of this October.
The harbinger of punishment returns. Following the chilling success of its first installment, SHOCKHEADED PETER – PART TWO descends on Kickstarter October 8th, 2025, continuing its spellbinding journey through horror-fantasy with a tale of marvelous retribution and dreadful delight.
Created by the visionary filmmaking duo E.B. Kogan and Jessica Silvetti and illustrated with playfully macabre flair by Giuseppe Sabè Di Stefano, this second part deepens the mythos of Shockheaded Peter, a reimagining of Dr. Heinrich Hoffman’s 19th-century children’s tale. When the enigmatic Peter arrives in the small town of Winding Springs, he ignites a grotesque game of cat and mouse, doling out fantastical punishments to the wicked. At the heart of the chaos is Ruby—a teenage girl with a literal broken heart—who finds herself drawn to Peter’s disturbing crusade and begins to uncover her true purpose.
A genre-blending fever dream that evokes Labyrinth and A Nightmare on Elm Street through the lens of Hayao Miyazaki, SHOCKHEADED PETER is a cautionary tale for the twisted soul, wrapped in luminously rich visuals and haunting storytelling. It’s a must-read for fans of Tim Burton, dark fantasy, and richly layered horror.
Exclusively on Kickstarter starting October 8th, 2025, this graphic novel is aimed at readers who crave stories that are as beautifully emotional as they are brutal.

Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
You’ll probably hear a little more from me as the Kickstarter progresses.
