Made Things

Set in a world of small and large magics, we are in the city where all the magicians have settled and rule with an iron fist, and everyone else lives in crime infested streets far away from the Magicians.

Coppelia has a small magic, it helps her carve puppets, she also has a ‘small’ secret, well a few small secrets, homunculi. She is also alone, her parents having been taken from the workhouse and then disappeared into the service of the Magicians.

As with everything else I’ve read from Adrian Tchaikovsky the world and characters are so well built and believable, even in this shortish novella there is everything you need to pull you through to the end and wanting more from this world.

The homunculi are a fascinating aspect of the story, right at the core, full of surprises, especially at the end!

Really enjoyed this and looking forward to any return to this world!

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
