Waiting

still reading ‘Scratch Moss’ by David Barnett

Now peak trading is over everything should return to normal, normal days off, normal amount of customers, less busy overall and it felt like that at work yesterday.

This should give me more thinking space rather than constantly feeling overwhelmed.

Waiting

I was across on the Cumbrian coast for a day out and I saw this group of elderly gentlemen waiting in a shelter in the sun as the afternoon passed.

Call Me Ishmael

Take the first sentence from your favourite book and make it the first sentence of your post.

Strength

Strength

Had a quick shuffle of the deck this morning looking for a mood card, something to guide me for the day, and drew Strength

strength, courage, persuasion, influence, compassion

This is all about inner strength and compassion rather than domination.

This is needed at the moment, needing to remember to fuel my love for myself and others rather than let that inner rage demon win.

Understand that change happens and find the courage to work through feelings and fear.

Honesty, compassion, and patience.

The Green

5th January 2026

5th January 2026

I started this project in May as I’ve very little time to get out and take photographs at the moment and thought that something I passed every day would be a good idea for a daily project.

I really wasn’t sure how long this would go on for as I can get bored with these forms of repetitive projects as I prefer to be a little bit spontaneous in my photography.

Today saw the 120th photograph added to the gallery, this is 6:55am every morning on my way to the bus except on days off.

Now to keep this up till the 28th of May and that will be a full year.

Some wonderful book news, Rónán Hession is releasing another book through Bluemoose Books in Spring/Summer of 2027, titled _Richard Heart Julianne_

I’ve read Rónán’s first two books, ‘Leonard and Hungry Paul’ and ‘Panenka’ and thought they were the whole point of reading, perfect stories delivered beautifully. I’ve yet to read ‘Ghost Mountain’ though I do have it on my shelf to read so we will definitely be adding that to this years reading list.

Delighted to announce that we will be publishing

_Richard Heart Julianne_

Spring/Summer 2027.

‘In Richard Heart Julianne we enter the mindstream of Richard on his last day as he reflects on his life, his home city and his failed marriage to Julianne.’

Brilliant!

I’m enjoying this form of doing my journal and task accountability, I like the mix that the page gets, there’s people becoming involved on Ko-Fi with the daily writing prompt, just got a new subscriber, overall quite positive.

It’s also encouraging me to be more regular with my tarot practice which I’ve been meaning to do for quite a while now.

As you may have noticed from today’s post I’m also going to be adding news/information items from the book and art world that take my fancy when I see them.

Biggest brain-scratcher from today though was trying to get my head around the rules for the solo game, Friday. I did watch some play videos which seemed to help but I think I’m just going to have to crack the box open and give it a go.
