Third night was the charm!

And this is another ‘classic’ 80s horror film I’ve always thought I’d watched but after watching I’ve no memory of it, maybe it was House II I watched.

Listed as a comedy horror, and is a bit light on both though it was a fun enough watch.

We follow author Robin Cobb as he returns to his Aunt’s house after she has committed suicide and where his son disappeared, he is returning for some solitude to write his personal experience of the Vietnam War…

But unknown to him the house is ‘haunted’ and/or a portal to other dimensions and this is where the fun begins.

The funnest bit is where George Wendt (Norm from Cheers) shows up as his neighbour and bad mouths Cobb’s aunt and does a sharp 180 when he is told that it is Cobb’s aunt.

The practical effects in the film are so 80s but great for the time, especially loved the zombie vet. But to balance this the acting was as wooden as you would expect from a low-budget 80s horror flick but this is still well worth watching as one of the core 80s horror films.

I’ll get around to House II: The Second Story soon as I’m pretty sure that has the skull in it and is where I started watching the House franchise.
